Mechy Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Mechy mobile application (the “App”), provided by Pistons LLC (“Pistons,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, accessing, or using Mechy, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Mechy. By using the App, you represent that you meet these requirements and that you hold a valid driver's license and payment method if you intend to book vehicle services.

2. The Service

Mechy is a platform that helps vehicle owners connect with independent, third-party mechanics and repair shops (“Service Providers”) to request quotes, book repair or maintenance services, and pay for completed work. Mechy also provides vehicle diagnostic tools, including OBD-II Bluetooth scanner integration and an AI-assisted diagnostic feature.

Pistons LLC is a technology platform, not a repair shop. We do not employ, supervise, or control the Service Providers who perform work on your vehicle. Service Providers are independent businesses solely responsible for the quality, safety, pricing, and legality of the services they perform. Pistons LLC is not a party to the agreement between you and any Service Provider and is not responsible for the acts or omissions of any Service Provider.

3. AI Diagnostic Feature

Mechy's “AI Diagnosis” tool uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude models) to analyze the symptoms and diagnostic codes you provide and suggest possible causes, severity, and recommended services. This feature is provided for informational and convenience purposes only. AI-generated output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your specific vehicle, and it is not a substitute for inspection, diagnosis, or repair by a qualified, licensed mechanic. Do not rely solely on the AI Diagnostic feature to make decisions about vehicle safety, including whether it is safe to drive. If the App or a Service Provider indicates a severe or urgent issue, stop driving the vehicle and seek professional inspection immediately.

4. OBD-II Scanner and Vehicle Data

If you connect a Bluetooth OBD-II scanner, the App will read diagnostic trouble codes and related data from your vehicle. This data is provided “as read” from your vehicle's onboard computer and may not reflect a complete picture of your vehicle's condition. Pistons LLC is not responsible for the accuracy of data reported by your vehicle or scanner hardware.

5. Accounts and Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@carfix24.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account. We strongly discourage jailbreaking or rooting your device, as this may compromise the App's security features and functionality.

6. Payments

Payments for services booked through the App are processed by our third-party payment processor, Stripe, Inc. By adding a payment method, you authorize Pistons LLC and/or the relevant Service Provider to charge your payment method for services you book, plus any applicable fees, in accordance with the pricing shown in the App at the time of booking.

7. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Provide false information about yourself or your vehicle
• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or to harass Service Providers or other users
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App
• Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the App or our trademarks
• Circumvent the App to transact directly with a Service Provider in order to avoid fees, where applicable

8. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, text, graphics, logos, and underlying software, is owned by Pistons LLC or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

9. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services, including Google Firebase, Stripe, Google Sign-In, Sign in with Apple, Anthropic's Claude API, and Google Places/Maps. Your use of features built on these services is also subject to the applicable third party's terms:

10. Disclaimers

THE APP AND ANY AI-GENERATED CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY DIAGNOSIS, RECOMMENDATION, OR SERVICE PROVIDER WORK WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PISTONS LLC WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP OR ANY SERVICES BOOKED THROUGH IT, INCLUDING WORK PERFORMED BY A SERVICE PROVIDER OR RELIANCE ON AI-GENERATED DIAGNOSTIC CONTENT.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to other users, Service Providers, or Pistons LLC. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time by contacting support@carfix24.com.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the effective date above. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
